So we had the school turned yesterday to break all the ice up and make a surface. Today everyone was down there riding (first time in over 2 weeks for most of us)

Of course the local yoof were busy letting off fireworks and it was a bit like riding in an outside arena just off the Gaza Strip. There were some ruddy huge bangs and flashes going down all of which my Ned just ignored, me on the other hand was jumping out of my skin. At one point it sounded like we were being invaded and someone was retaliating with Bazookas.

No doubt tomorrow when all is quiet he will take fright at the traffic cone again....I give up trying to understand I really do.

The other day I hacked a rather fresh PF all of 300m to the main gate of the yard and back. On my return one of the grooms commented that he'd watched our stop-start progress with interest and asked me if she was afraid of the concrete bridge. Ummm... nope

Blinking horse spent 3 years with me living out in all weathers and knee deep mud in winter only for her to decide NOW that puddles are scary.
Daft horse.
