Well this morning I thought I would ride Ella before work and do a bit of jumping out in our field (which is dry!). Ella is normally quite a sensible mare. She gets excited when jumping but only speeds up, nothing nasty.
Well we went to go and jump the first jump. I took it at a trot as is only tiny. She jumped it in some haphazard way and then launched all four feet in the air (I have seen her do this in the field) and then while still in air she let loose a huge buck.
My mum who was watching said Ella nearly went on her nose. Well of course I came catapulting out the front door, did a somersault and landed thankfully on no fragile part of my body - thank god for BPs!
Of course this was the one time my mum didn't have the video camera.
Then just to comfort me, Enys decided to take a chunk out of my arm while I was turning him out.
So I am not sitting at my desk at work feeling very stiff/bruised and have to play squash this evening!
Spring grass taking effect methinks! Horses who'd have em?
