I have commented in the past that I dont ride our 22year old cob often as she doesn't go forward and I hate riding anything that needs leg.
I only said the other day that I own three horses (two are my daughter really) and the only one I enjoy riding is my nutty 36 year old who I have just retired.
So today I rode little cob, only to escort the stressy warmblood on a hack.
She was brilliant, stepped out and jogged to keep up with the other one. Never touched her with my legs and I had forgotten to carry a schooling whip (just to show her, not hit)
I can only think she knows what I have been saying about her and wanted to prove me wrong. First time in the 11 years we have owned her she showed this much enthusiasm.
Downside for the cob is that I might just ride every weekend now
