I'm hoping i've got Gov sorted for BD now, but I just wanted to run this by anyone who has a clue about these things.

I'll admit I might not have declared Gov was an import because of his rather dubious import papers but then I remembered he has a Z on his bum. Useful. Not that I think anyone would query it - we're hardly a threat competition wise.

I had a look on the website and it seems horses imported as a 4 year old don't get slapped with any points so we'd be able to start at P or N quite happily. I rang BD to explain about the papers issue as they state he was 'approx' 5 when he was imported in 2004. Its now 2008 and he's not yet grown his 7 year old hook, and his teeth look remarkably like that of a 6-7 year old - as confirmed by 3 vets.

So i've put together a bundle of photocopied stuff to send to BD, flu jabs from '04 onwards, identification papers and the said dodgy import papers and registered him online as Governor Z. Plus a note explaining how old he is now (through dentication) and his 'real age' when he was imported.

Sorry for the essay but do you think there'll be any problems? I was hoping to be out by the end of the month.

What age do his import papers say he was when he was imported, as that's the age they usually take.

BD are however in my experience quite understanding about these things .

Import papers say he was 'approx 5'.

He couldn't have been over 4 years old and the vets estimate he would have been about 3.5 years old - they looked at his teeth again recently and estimated he was almost 7 but as I said no hook quite yet so perhaps he was even younger. I could always get that in writing for BD if they request it but i'm hoping what i'm sending them will be sufficient.

The important item is the Z brand this indicates that the pony has been registered by a Breeding Organisation and as passports in other countries were started in 2000 it is most likely it has been issued with a passport and any subsequent document could be invalid. It might be a Zangersheide brand.

It is a Zangersheide brand.

I've always assumed his papers were put with another horse to increase its value (as he already has a brand) though someone told me this is common practice when sending 'substandard' horses to the UK i'm not sure how true it is. Of course it could be even more shady which is why i'm reluctant to investigate.

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying in your post however.
