The grass has been quite short yet and it had been a little overgrazed from last summer . We have been giving it an extra rest and did some minor seeding.
We had left 3 out there 24/7 last summer and had little rain at the end of summer so it took it's toll.

Looking out now it is finally lush and green. getting long even and I think it is time to make them happy horses again!

I am only putting Chester and Tex out this summer and keeping the two ponies over by the house.
I am also bring the boys in at night so no over grazing this time.

also...not fat horses

Mine still aren't off their winter paddock because my fencing isn't finished around the summer paddock. At the moment I have 3 orange lawnmowers grazing down my back yard! Fortunately it's a stupidly large lawn so they have enough grass for a week or two yet. It's obviously really hard work eating grass.

Ha ha ha! They look like it is exhausting them!

I just got back in from working on the fencing in the summer pasture. It is a bigger mess than I had thought!
It may take a week or two after all. Oh well...the grass will only be that much longer over there!
