I posted a while ago about my mums mare coming over and mounting my old pony mare (25 year old) so she went back 3 weeks later.
Anyhow, a friend of mine has bought a 3 year old tb straight off the track. She's an absolute dope ona rope to handle but is obviously still green. Anyhow she arrived 2.00 on saturday.
Thought to myself it would be best just to pop her straight out with my 2,the 25 yr old and a 7 year old welsh b. Both of mine really quiet. I opened the winter field gate first and let my 2 in(its about 4 acres or so) so there would be plenty of room to run around in!
Turned the new tb out, my 2 came galloping down and not much happened actually!! All quiet. TB obviously slotted in last in the pecking order.
Anyhow, its actually getting worse..........7 year old is being a proper b**** to the tb, won't let her near old girl, infact they both spend there time scowling at her...........mind you she doesn't care!!
Funnily enough though when we brought them in (they live out at the mo though), when the 7 year old went out of sight, the tb went mad!! Ended up having to tie tb outside her stable to calm her down!!
How long to settle guys, how long?? Or are my two adorable babies destined to just have each other for ever!!

Some take a short time, others seem to take forever. Three is an odd number and the newbie is interupting a bonded pair, so it will take time.

I haven't got anything useful to say because I am new to horsekeeping but I just wanted to say how beautiful your donkey foal is. I've never seen a baby donkey before
