After listening to the rain lashing down for a couple of hours, I thought I'll just pop down to the field and check the ponies before bed, I'll sleep better if I know they're all okay. Walked down as the car battery is flat, found the old lad (nearly 20, growing out a blanket clip) was fine, ears warm, no shivering. The rising 3 sec D (unclipped, not fat but decently covered), on the other hand, was shivering all over ?. Despite the rain, it's not actually that cold tonight, or hugely windy.
Had to ring poor mum for a lift back down with a rug and headcollar (mercifully I caught her before she'd gone to bed), got her rugged up in a lightweight and told her she was too much of a wuss to be a proper native!
Is anyone else's native so nesh, or have I bought a thoroughbred in disguise?! ?
