My old lad has had me in tears today. Went to the yard to bring them in and my old shire is no where to be found Clydie is doing his nut then something outof the corner of my eye moves in the holly tree it's my 33 year old shire he's been scratching his bum onthe tree slide down between then and ended up ¾ way over on his back there is no way i can get to him from behind he's lying there struggling to get up and then just stops closes his eyes then nothing so i think omg he's dead forgive me for waht about to do i slapped him so hard I him wide eyed in the meantime our local farmer who is in my book an absolute hero has been rung by my mum and he and his mate arrived two ropes pull him out of the tree literally hoist him up and stand him there for 20 mins they helo me get him back into his stable and derug him check him all over and then they left. I just though it was not his time I know that sounds silly but I love this old boy with all my heart and soul he is the love of my life and I would devastated without him. Stayed with him he's fine eat his tea! snuggled into me for some tlc and seems fine a few cuts but nothing major. Sorry just had to let this out as im still in a bit of shock really and i knew you guys would understand. Thanks

To Dennis and Dave your my hero for 2011 and I thank you from the bottom of my heart

you must have been in a panick hun and hey glad everything ok and a beautiful thankyou to your farmer and friend -- it is so nice that there are still lovely people who care out there - big hugs to you and clyde xxx

I had a similar fright with my cat! Not quite on the same scale, but scary all the same. She was curled up on the floor and it didn't look like she was breathing, so I poked her...nothing. I shook her...nothing. I finally picked her up under the arms and she woke up. I was nearly in tears!

Glad to hear he's alright :O It's scary!!

Thanks guys for all the hugs and vibes it is much appreciated just going to check him again now as paranoid mummy syndrome (PMS) is starting to creep in again. Big thanks from me, Eddie (shire) and Foxbar the doo lally clydesdale who thinks he's a labrador x

Poor you must have been so scary.
I had afew scares over the years with Lucy, mainly because she used to escape from her field, I used to panic everytime that she had been stolen. I would run round in tears calling her name. Till I found her in whichever field she desided had the best grass.
I'm so glad your boy is ok and you had such lovely people to help you out :)

(((((((((hugs)))))))))) to you. xx
