Hiya,
Just to say I took the advice offered re WWYD with naughty horse last week - she recovered from her 'Tiger attack' it was just the hair and skin - and I could finally ride Saturday.
We did a circle - not the lollipop as we sometimes do (This is only avoidable going one way) - we ended with an very steep hill - we came back via the less used paths - and on Sunday started with a long trot up a long steep hill.
I've chopped her feed down to happy hoof only.
All good sound advice and it worked. Thanks to everyone.
We were on the buckle end of our reins until the last 1/2 mile sunday - yay !
We did learn that we don't like cows though! This was an amazing discovery, as when I first had her the field she lived in butted up to a highland cow jamboree! No wonder she never settled there and was a horse on a hot tin roof... live and learn.
PS. She really enjoyed herself - was super cuddly and ran over to me when she saw her saddle. Good times
Out again on Tuesday - and we're planning a sponsored ride in September. Yes its little and a long time yet, but it's good to have something to aim for.
