I am totally fed up with stupid Spanish horse sellers
mad.gif

All I want is a nice arab gelding, 15hh+, 4-8 years old. Colour unimportant, don't care if its got odd markings or scars. I can find several in the UK for sensible prices (around £2000) but over here, not a chance.

I'm English - cher ching!! The price doubles (why I get Spanish friend to ring)
I'm female - I obviously know nothing about horses and must be patronised
I want to do RAID - This horse's antecedents are champions in endurance, so I want more money for it (yes, but this one is cow hocked and has pasterns that are horizontal )
I don't want to spend more than €2500 euros, including having it gelded - This horse is papered and has been used for breeding, so I want more money for it (but I don't WANT to breed with it, why didn't you tell me when I asked on the phone if it was a breeding stallion?)
I need something taller - well, any horse taller than 158cm isn't a 'real' arab, they are ALL small.

*Goes away and bangs head on table*

i feel sorry for you!!! please dont bang to hard!!!! i am trying to find a nag for about the same price, under 10 only criteria heavyweight and 15.3 plus. so dont give up xxx

i wish i had the money to buy the pony i so desperatly want sadly... my insurence havnt paid out yet, im having to sell my cherished side saddle and raid the last bit of my savings to scrape together 2500 so i think anything fancy is out of the picture xx

After the boys have been playing my one handed husband up all week i suspect one of them might be on offer for about £1.50 shortly. Unfortunately that only gives you the choice of a hairy bog trotter with destructive tendancies or a stunning but utterly poofy IDX. Take your pick..........

Final bl**dy straw!

Spanish friend rang a breeder who is advertising the other evening, on the off chance they might have a suitable ned. Silly boy committed all the fatal offences. Told the breeder it was for an English woman. Told her I wanted it for endurance. She said we have a 7 yo Arab stallion, about 15.2hh, very calm (children ride him) but he has already done a little distance riding etc. But needed to consult with her father about the price. She called back today and wanted €7000 for him (a touch over £6000!!!!!!). My friend bought his championship winning endurance mare for €4500, for feck's sake!!

I give up, I really do *inserts hair tearing smiley*

And......breathe!

Problem was, he wasn't really advertised, we just rang up on spec and I bet they couldn't believe their luck. It was just unfortunate that friend, J, gave the game away.

Nevermind, tomorrow is another day...there are many people worse off than I am in many ways.

*wanders off singing, 'Always look on the bright side of life...'.*
