I am soon to recieve enough money to enable me to buy a saddle. The criteria are:

Leather

Brown - preferably oak bark/tobacco colour

GP style to facilitate flawless dressage tests, blisteringly fast and accurate clear rounds and a chafe-free set of bumcheeks after a days hunting.

So much choice - so I want to know what saddle you have, why you love it and Id really love to see pics!

I have 3!!

One is a made to measure Stubben (GP in black), one is a Frank Baines (stressage in black) and the last is a GFS (GP in havana). All fit the horse concerned well so do not restrict movement and have no numb bum issues even after 3 -4 hours of riding.

If I had to have one that I could do everything in I would go for either the best made to measure I could afford (my made to measure Stubben was only slightly more expensive than the Frank Baines). When they are made to measure they fit them to you and the horse for maximum comfort as well as the best fit (my Stubben is 9 years old is checked every year and hasn't needed altering/reflocking yet).

Probably no help to you at all - sorry to much wine.....

One of the comfiest saddles I've ridden in is a Lovatt and Ricketts GP, it was apparently made to measure with an extra comfy seat, I've schooled, gone xc and hacked for hours in it

The way I ended up with the Stubben was from just talking to the local saddlers - it was for my cob who is very wide and very little in the way of withers so a lot of makes were ruled out as they just couldn't do them wide enough!!

I would have a look at Frank Baines and Black Country Saddles - they are lovely if you are wanting an English saddle - do you have a good local saddler that stocks plenty of makes so you can have a look/try to find one you like and then see if they can make adjustments to suit you? The other good thing about made to measure is you can get exactly the colour/leather you want.
