Hey all,

Bit of a pointless post really, but anyway...

My little boy is 11 weeks now, and I allready have a few ponies dotted around all over the place that I can bring home if and when he decides to ride ( Don't worry - I will definatley not be one of those pushy mothers ) But we have a 148cm 4 year old colt by Lauriston that has soo much scope it's unbelievable ( Think he's in my siggy jumping loose over a x pole as a 3 year old ) He will be for sale once he has been to some training shows, and I thought as he is only a pony, and is so talented, it'd be a shame to not use him before he goes, I'd love to se one of our other stallions, but don't wanna risk getting something that might not measure in... I thought if I put Teddy to a 128cm pony mare, the chances are we shoould get a pony!

Now I just need to find a well bred, talented 128 mare, preferably a pretty one as teddy is quite plain, anyone know of any for lease / sale?? And if Jack doesn't want to ride, we can either have someone else produce him / her for us, give it to a child on loan or sell it...Am I mad??

xx

LOL Yes!!!:D:D:D

He's only 11 weeks and even if you breed a foal next year he'll only be 5 when that pony is ready to start.

TBH most littlies only do lead rein riding until 5/6/7 and then once they're off lead rein need an experienced pony to learn on not a youngster.

No offence intended:o

hahaha I didn't mean for him to be on it as a youngster... was late last night - didn't explain properly... Obviously OH would break and school him / her... Then it would go to a child to produce, then by the time Jack is on 138 or 148's itt should have a bit of life experience.

We were watching the 128cm's class at Hickstead, some of those ponies are about £30k and we most definatley haven't got that, but if we can breed one that could have the chance of being good for next to nothing I think it's worth a go, and if he doesn't want to ride, we have a pony that will owe us nothing really... It could go and play jumping with another child that will love it...

Lol, barking mad and I love you for it :D

Friend's two daugters got their ponies as foals. They've grown up together. It has worked wonderfully :D. They weren't quite as young as your Jack, but the general idea is the same :)

It's not as though Jack wouldn't have other ponies to ride as he's going along, if that is what he wants to do :).

I believe you may be as barking as me Mrs M... haha

I've allready got 3 ponies lined up for him to start on, just thought if I bred one good ( or potentially good one ) now it'd save alot of money in the long run if it is something that he wants to do...

I guarantee he will hate horses as it is all mummy and daddy ever do... My mum thinks he'ss be a pianist, and I think he'll be a ballerina... Ben would LOVE that hahahaha

Pansy child!

Aye :D

It's not just the money, though that is nice lol, it's seeing the inter-action. Even when the child can't 'do anything' with the pony, they like to just watch.

Admittedly Jack and the pony will both hit Two Years Old at the same time, which will be fun - well, it will from my standpoint lol :D
