I need one for 2 large (17h) horses, but as small as I can get away with due to our not-very-large turn into our property. I would like some living accomodation with shower and WC. However what else should I look for, specially from mechanical point of view?

ooo you might like to look at our box!

Get the Damned thing checked by a reptable mechanic before you buy (even from a so called 'reputable' dealer)... we made this mistake and havnt had our 'new' lorry for the last 6 weeks... the horse has been in it once for a test drive round the block. We learnt the hard way.

To fit in two horses, living and shower.wc you will be looking at a 7,5 tonne with in a body min 18 foot long behind the cab. so overal length 23 feet. Ours has 10ft horse space, 7 ft living. We opted not to have bathroom, as can put a portaloo in an empty hrose stall, and many venues have on site showers-
but the makers did do a version wiht, but itakes up half of the living space on one side.
Saves a lot of weight, space and carrying, heating and disposing of water.
How narrow and tight is your access?
Can you get a freind with a medium sized lorry to try your access for size?

My husband used to get a motorhome in which was 23ft long and we reckon we could have a few feet extra on it if necessary - but we look at some of these super huge horseboxes and we wouldn't even get them round the bends in our road, let alone the drive into the house

You should be ablt to find one that has a 18 or even 20 ft body but check the width too.
If over 20 ft body, would probably be overwiegth anway, with 2 big hroses and all the living that you want.
