I want to go to the beach!

Can anyone recommend a good place to take horses to the beach?

I am in the Bucks area so obviously am aware I will need to travel a distance! But before winter sets in (more than it has already!) I would love to take Maddie to the beach for the day. I know she has been before so am happy she will love it and not turn into too much of a wild snorting monster.

I have a friend in Bournemouth that we may be able to stay with for a weekend but is there anywhere we could go for the day?

Brean and Berrow near Burnham-On-Sea is good to ride on however probably quite a journey from you

Camber sands in east sussex is a fab beach for riding and its best to go in the winter, horses are allowed any time of day from end Oct to end march.

Holkham in North Norfolk parking on Lady Anne Drive £12 for the day and you can go anytime of the day anytime of the year

Gosh, you couldn't be in a worst place for beaches. I think Aylesbury in Bucks is the furthest town in the UK from any beach.

That said, Wales possible best bet for you as it will be a good 3 hours to Camber Sands in East Sussex.

Make sure you check the tide tables in great detail if you go.

I know! Probably why I want to go so much!

Lolo has made me want to join in. My own boy on the beach:

The ponies from work, we had so much fun we're making it a monthly outing.

And if you think that's a smile in the last one it's not. The other two thought it would be hilarious to gallop past us luckily Tinks was an angel and didn't bat an eyelid.

Studland Beach is now open to riders and is an easy trip from Bournemouth on the Chain ferry, we go every year and love it! 4 miles of sand.
