I cantered Bug up the field....she is supposed to be coming back into work seady after four months off and just turning 4. She is fit enough from the field.

My walking plan wasn't working as she just jogs everywhere so have been doing a little trot in the school then she settles nicely into walk work, but this lovely field was calling us to gallop across it, but i was just about sensible enough to do a collected off the saddle canter across it instead.

I know i need telling off. She loved it though!!!

Thank you irish_only, i promise to stick to walk and trot for a few more weeks....well maybe.
She gallops flat out round her field all the time so i figured a slow canter wouldn't kill her!!!

Totally agree with this. It's not like your doing strenuous cantering with her, or that she's been stable kept. I stick to the walk for 1 week, add trot at 2 weeks and at around 4-5 weeks I introduce canter BUT, out hacking, I do let her have her head and give a good blast along a grassy track/on the beach.
