I washed my pony's YELLOW tail!!!

here's a before & after pic.

i took some people's advice & used daz on his tail (did a test patch 2days ago & was okay

)
first i just put some (very precise measurement!) daz in a bucket & filled to half way with water.

washed it as usual.
then made a paste with the daz & put it on his tail (only the yellowy ends), left for 20 mins & then washed it off.
phewww
then after that, used ASDA cheapo conditioner on it (lots!) & washed that off, then smothered it with baby oil so it won't get so dirty so quickly..

what do you think?!
(his tail was still wet when i took the 2nd picture)

your horse is stunning.
i groom for yard dat has a white gelding i used ace clothes bleach 1 capfull to a capfull of shampoo mix together put into tail.lather up and leave ten min.rinse well.re wash in shampoo rinse and canter show spray. end results immaculate white tail.but i am going to try your tips and see if it does the job.
il try anyhting if keeps white whiter haha

another tip to keep ur horses tail as beauitful as the rest of it!

cut the tail to about an inch below the hocks, as then there is less chance of it being peed on! (werid i know, but it works!)

yeah you can - my mum does, i don't plait his as it's pulled though

VERY white tail! May have to try the daz method on my girls (five greys!). Word of warning re the baby oil - it tends to attract dust etc so can actually make the tail more yellow - I found this out to my cost - you are much better using canter spray or something similar.

Yes I made the mistake of putting baby oil on a white tail then turning the horse out in the field, it was dirtier than before I washed it
