... and picked up these two leaflets (with marigolds on, of course

). I thought those who haven't had a chance to already might like to see what they're saying. It makes me speechless with anger and irritation. The shop assistants were wearing furry fox ears, and there was a large poster on the shop window saying something like 'They're still hunting - help save the foxes, ask inside.' Hopefully you can manage to read these:

And no, i wasn't prepared to bother the two 16 year old looking shop assistants about this! Criticism needs to continue to be directed higher up, IMO.

I wish Lush would spend more time campaigning for the police to stop anti-social behaviour like those yobs who drove that poor woman, Fiona Pilkington, and her disabled daughter to suicide here in Leicestershire than vermin!

Of course Fiona Pilkington and her daughter didn't have cute fuzzy ears and tails like foxes do.

Maybe we should campaign H&H to produce a similar postcard in defence of the fact that 99% are now hunting legally, and putting some facts straight?

I don't agree with fox hunting either but I also loath so called animal lovers that attack horses when they are being used in a legal activity. Assualting people you disagree with is also no way to conduct yourself in a democracy.

I actually really like Lush as a company & it's products but I will have to bite my tongue next time I go in there if these leaflets are on display

Oh I wouldn't
grin.gif
I would tell them exactly why I wouldn't be buying anything else from them...ever. They are not the only company that sells smellies, ethical or otherwise.

My husband would walk in the other direction with his "I am NOT with her" face on

I think you may just have killed the forum by posting a logical, thought out responce to a post about hunting

No-one can disagree with what you have said, whatever the motive attacking people, horses and hounds not doing anything against the law can not be allowed to continue.
The fact they are putting themselves across to the public(who,IME really dont give a sh1t about hunting one way or the other untill pressured to give a stance) as the good guys protecting our wildlife and "forgetting" to mention the harm they cause horses/hounds/followers and hunt staff simply should not be allowed to continue
mad.gif

Protest all you want,it's still the UK and you have every right to protest an activity you object to for whatever reason-but dont hurt people and animals in the process....

Are Lush really so ignorant of the group they are suporting?

It does seem as though they are, regardless of whether a person is pro or anti hunting surely a logical person can see that support of this group is not the way to go about protesting and is entirely hypocritical if theyre Anti-support is due to the harm caused to foxes - horses and riders dont matter then?

I cannot get my head round why Lush would support this type of activist group as it seems to go against what you initially think their ethics are, wonder what their reason for supporting HSA is and not othe non-violent organistions?

[ QUOTE ]
Sorry i dont agree with hunting whatsoever, theres much more humane ways to kill animals

[/ QUOTE ]

I take it you mean hunting with hounds, you don't have to agree with it, as it has been illegal since 2005.

You are right about other methods of control. I have several friends who are employed by local farmers to control the fox population on their farms. The number they shoot in a weekend would easily exceed the number the average hunt would see all year. However, this is also wrong in the eyes of the HSA and therefore LUSH, as the HSA are against ALL forms of hunting, including fishing and vermin control.

If it had been anything other than an exceedingly good day for me then I am afraid that biting my tongue would prove impossible

My sister would probably drag me out of the shop by my hair to prevent me going off on one!

I may just write a strongly worded email to Lush HQ though
mad.gif

I can send you the response they would send you (and have sent everyone) to save you waiting if you would like?
grin.gif

I am still awaiting a response to my email enquiring as to whether Lush supported violence towards adults, children, horses and dogs who are acting legally. Same with my request for them to join this forum to discuss it with us

I would love to see Lush try and defend this action on here.

Yup my friend inadvertantly stayed with a member of the lush marketing team at the weekend (whilst visiting someone else - she has no wish to be linked to Lush in anyway and told the employee just what she thought of the campaign).
She was appalled to find that this person had no idea about hunting or the Act and was actually trying to "gen-up" on it over the weekend (by reading Sab literature
mad.gif
) - this may mean that we start to get a different response from Lush but I don't think it'll be a balanced one.

Sorry but enough of Lush We've given them enough publicity on the forum. just start telling all your horsey friends that they hate horses and people associated with them hunting or not.

Sorry!
