After several listings on Ebay with lots of watchers but no bids I just can't seem to shift it! I lowered the start price & did not have a reserve...

I need to sell it to put the pennies towards a new one. Saddler will not take it in part Ex....

At this rate I will be selling the horse and buying one that fits the saddle! ;-)

Have you tried 'Saddles Direct'? Might not get the same price as private sale, but it'd be gone and you'd have the money

Saddles Direct offered me £90 - Surely it is worth more than that?

It is back on Ebay now, with no reserve and £80 start..... Lots if pics too.

Im suffering the same, have an english leather gp, in nice condition in a narrow/medium - loads of watchers (think 20!!) but no-one even bidding and I only wanted £100 for it!! And my saddler said he would have valued it at £300.. :( I give up!!

same here mines been on 3 times now lots of watchers but no bids have reduced it right down cause need a jumping saddle :-( ive got 2 more sat in the tack room as well which are of no use to me, mw gp and an xxw griffin selecta :-/

I'm glad it's not just me then ! I have a dressage saddle that fits young man sitting at saddlers but can't have it until I've sold my others to pay for it :-( have two mw dressage saddles that have been trying to sell for about a month !

Well ive been trying to sell a heritage jumping saddle and an old gp on ebay - both had lots of watchers and no bids grr.
The gp had an £80 start and the jump saddle £175 so not major money for what they are!

Im going to try preloved next as i really need to sell!

Have you tried Rideaway - they buy 2nd hand saddles (bought one from them - don't know how much they buy for?)

Im going to try preloved next as i really need to sell!

I have just bought one off someone on preloved, all done via text and paypal and am very pleased with the saddle, less expensive and quicker than e-bay,so would definitely recommend giving preloved a bash. There were lot's of ads with sold on them so assume there must be many more people like myself who are looking for an alternative to e-bay!!

To OP,as a recent buyer who had been trawling e-bay for weeks (before getting fed up and going on preloved lol),can I just say one thing that really put me off was having just one pic or having a few but no useful ones!! A front on pic so can get a good idea of gullet width and shape of flaps etc was a must for me and I'm guessing for others?? Pics with a measuring tape in place as well are always useful as the points people measure from can vary a lot.

I have two saddles that I need to sell, one a gp and the other a jumping saddle. I need the money as have no saddle that fits my current horse.

Just had exact same problem and ranted on another forum lol! Mine has finally sold for £50 less than I wanted and after the 3rd time I listed it so lost out in fee's too :( I had already bought another saddle though so gave up trying to get more for it! Must be the wrong week to sell, I bet after pay day at month end it would sell better? I had endless 'watchers' too all 3 times....so frustrating! Understand watching and bidding at the last min but not watching for the sake of it :(

Just sold 2 on ebay - both started at 99p, one went for £87, one went for £170. Really is worth starting very low, if that helps.

Yep, I have also sold a lot of good quality saddles on ebay over the years and have always got really good prices for the them.

The one I sold last week on ebay went for £150 more than I paid for it too !!

Like the poster above, I always start them at 99p, never use a reserve as it puts people off and always include LOTS of good pictures and a detailed description.

Good Luck !!
