I wish this rain would stop!!!

I've only had my horse a few weeks and am doing basic stuff with him as he's young. The last few days the weather has been so abysmal I haven't done anything with him! I feel terribly guilty and perhaps I ought to make my new boy walk out in all weathers.....

The rain is desperately needed so don't wish it away. Ride out in it, I do & I haven't melted yet. Just beware of long flappy riding macs on young horses, better to get your legs wet than frighten a youngster. At least it's not cold with it yet, go ahead enjoy.

I haven't actually ridden the new boy yet! I don't want to start doing it in high winds and rain..... God, I'm such a sap!

Take him to an indoor school & get a decent feel of him. The wind never seems to blow hard for more than a day so you will get your chance. Have fun.

Thanks. I don't have access to an indoor school though. Anyway, today is supposed to be better. I have ridden him before I bought him, just to try him, but am getting him used to traffic (leading in hand) as he had seen none and it wouldn't have been safe to ride out till he's ok with the traffic - he's getting there though!
