I quite like writing letters and poems. I don't often like sharing because there is always a few people who either don't like what I've written or thinks it somewhat childish, stupid and a waste of time.
In a bid to be braver and ignore those sort of negative people I scribbled down this, and chose to share it.
When they met in heaven
I came from earth where I was a gift,
I couldn’t stay long and my journey was swift.
I was born in the British Isles or by the sea
It was the best place, and I think you’d agree.
I met many humans, some heavy handed
I didn’t like the day when I was branded.
Now I’m here, and I’ve met you too
We’ll pair up and chat about what we’ve been through.
I didn’t like vets, oh and you didn’t either,
That human lady was kind and would let us take a breather.
Don’t pull my feathers, and not your mane,
We tried to tell them with a stamp or a squeal again.
All was forgiven when we had lovely rides
Jumping and hacking out on the hillsides.
You went fast while I was slower
I wouldn’t have kept up as I’m lower!
I was so grateful that my girth was done up with care
You see, our sides are sensitive as we are a mare.
My head hurt and started to shake,
Just like your feet did with that horrible ache.
Those humans were kind, and didn’t want to see us suffer,
We couldn’t be fixed, sadly we weren’t tougher.
The decision was made and you arrived first,
You know the protocol of waiting for friends, it’s all been rehearsed.
So, here we are together where our chats will continue,
The human that links us together, her heart is forever within me and you.
