Iams dog and cat food company - carry out cruel animal tests

PETA fund terrorism. Anything they publish should be disbelieved!!

Incidentally though, I won't buy Iams because they are owned by Nestle, who I boycott!

I know. I was surprised when I realised.

They do indeed seem to own a surprising number of companies - Winalot as well springs to mind. I check the packet of new products a lot now. Feel very strongly about boycotting nestle.

<font color="green"> So do I! On a lot of products their name is not that easy to spot though.

You are right, they are cruel, hoever if you want to feed a natural diet then only barf will do, not the most convineient , so we have gone back to dry but use James Wellbeloved

Not surprised in the slightest, dog and cat food is big business and they are one of the biggest.

I will not feed any commercial dog food, it it's not natural food for dogs, there is no regulation on additives, its cooked at high temperatures and artificial nutrients are added back in some of which are indegestible to dogs, colourants are used to make it look anything but the gray that comes out of the cooking process and its bulked out with cheap and unnatural ingredients sometimes of very dubious quality to make it competitive in price. Some of them even add vegetables just to make owners feel that they are doing the best for their pet.

Even the company that make Wellbeloved cook up off meat and would rather pay money to install filters for the smell than use better quality meat in your dog food.

If you really want to know how good a dog food is ask to visit the factory and see how far you get!

Oh I see that explains it all, they don't do nasty things to dogs and cats being fed strange diets, they just fund a company that does do nasty things to dogs and cats, even though they are very against it!

What a strange arrangement, out of interest anyine out there have an ex Iams experimented on animal, or know someone who has adopted one? How are these animals retired at Iams and where are the pictures of these happily retired animals in their Iams rest home?????????????????????

It also doesn't mention the nature of the experiments or explain the need of them, there is no mention of what age they are retired or where they get them from and how they are kept.

Sorry Iams but with my diet there is no need to experiment!!!

I'm a self-confessed "bunny-hugger" so I didn't open the link. However, my daughter told me ages ago about the IAMS' testing and made me promise never to buy their products. I feed my dogs predominantly raw from the local butcher, where they light-heartedly call me "the chicken lady". If I feed dry, I buy Dodson &amp; Horrell Chudley Sensitive and Light (three dogs with sensitive tums, two who need to lose a few pounds!). Any horror stories to stop me buying Chudley????
