Just thought I'd share my love for these things, you can get them in lots of places, betterware sell them.

My sister got me a pair bout 5 years ago, I just chucked them in a drawer, got them out last year with all the ice and they are fantastic, there's no way I would have been able to walk the dog without them.

Anyway just thought i'd share

I think I'm gonna get crampons instead cos I can't see how the yaktrax can work as well. There was a big thread on the dog forum I'm on: there are yaktrax and crampons on ebay and someone mentioned inov8 trainers-she reckons she can run in snow and on ice and not slip!! They have special 'sticky' rubber on them.

Like these, they sell similar ones on ebay, I never thought the yak trax ones looked like they would work, glad they do.

i have the yak trax ones, they are brilliant.

may get non-slip rubber stuff and some yaktrax just to see which I prefer.

A fellow picker upper produced a set of these (or similar) last Saturday and tried them for the first time - they were brilliant and I was incredibly envious! I was sick of slipping and sliding on the side of a hill all day!

Infact I nearly tipped her up and stole them off her!

 RW is a mugger!

I am going to get my spikey tipped hiking pole out if this continues, hopefully it will stop me falling over, and if not I can use it to stab anyone that laughs too much:D

Would it be odd to get my YM some for Christmas??

Always stuck for what to get her, and these do at least seem practical??

No I think its a great idea, as I said I stuffed mine in a drawer for about 3 years, until I tried them last year, was sorry I hadn't used them before, YM will be glad of them

On my yard last year I was the only one who could walk about the yard without falling over

^^^This. Think I posted earlier in SB that I couldn't be without mine in winter over here. I keep a pair of boots with them on all winter long. They work exceptionally well.

I've done the same, I keep them on a pair of boots instead of pulling them on and off
