Having had my hack curtailed today by ice on the roads has anyone used the new ice studs on their Scoot Boots (or any other boots) ?
Are they easy to put in
Do they work well, especially on roads where there is only ice in patches
Are the boots still ok to use if you take them out after winter.

Frost nails with a tungsten core help on all but the worst ice. Not cheap though and they aren't removable like studs. I think studs might be too solid and thick for on solid surfaces

I always used frost nails when the pony was shod. I'm just trying to find someone who has used the ice studs for Scoot Boots to see how good they are before buying them and drilling them into my boots. I'm somewhat scuppered though at the moment as the Saddlery Shop is now out of stock of them and the Hoof Boutique only has Easycare and Equine fusion ice studs.
