Hello, I'm new to this forum. I was wondering if I'm the only Icelandic Horse fan in Kent or are there more out there? I have a 5-gaited gelding that I brought with me when I moved to England. So far I haven't come across any other icelandics here.

Please inbox me if you share my interest in this (perfect) breed! It would be nice to get in contact with you - maybe even a ride in the spring? //Jenny

There are definitely other Icelandic fans out there... I'm sure someone posted on a thread the other day about how well they manage to ride in the snow because they have an Icelandic! Any pictures of yours? Love an Icelandic but never had the chance to ride one.

Used to have one at riding school I did work experience at, oh my gosh, I would trade my boys trot for a toot any day. Lovely ride

I'm up north but if you go on the IHSGB website http://www.ihsgb.co.uk and get in touch with someone I'm sure they'll put you in touch with someone in Kent. I know there are Icelandics down there.

Thanks, but I have already gone down that path and nothing came of it unfortunately - I joined the IHSGB and asked them about it but couldn't get hold of any other members in my area. If anybody has an icelandic and would like to do a longer ride together, possibly on the North Downs, please contact me! Fifill and I would like company!

Do you ever travel into Hampshire? I do know of someone I used to work with who has an Icelandic in Soberton, and she has done long rides in the past.

I'm open for suggestions, it might be possible. If you'd like to pass on my details I can send them to you.

Hello. I'm an Icelandic horse fan & I have a gelding that I keep in Bexley, Kent. I have a friend with one in Biggin Hill & she organises Icey lessons & small events. Perhaps we could organise something with you?

'Fraid not, though I live in Kent, and do have a soft spot for Icelandics, after I went on a days trek in Sweden XD

Evee I live near Maidstone, any chance your friend might be able to arrange a lesson on her Icelandic? Would love to try one! :)

Sorry should have myself clearer - I'm new to this & in a hurry on tea-break! My friend arranges courses/ lessons with a top British rider for people with their own Iceys. If you're interested in the breed & want to try them, get in touch with Mandy & Smari Slater via the IHSGB website & arrange a Weekend @ their place in Dorset, I'm sure you'll love it. Good luck.

Sounds good, would love to meet up and ride with other icelandics! Inbox me and maybe we can sort something out!

Hi again Swedie. are you on Facebook? I'll send you my friend's details but not sure what's allowed on these forums. Might be best if I check with her first & give you her phone number? The IHSGB website also has a South-East representative, Melody Hall, who you can reach by email via their website - check out 'Links' - but perhaps you've tried that already? Would love to meet up for a ride.

Hi again Swedie, sorry for the delay. My friend Nadine says to get in touch and she'll give you details of any courses/rides she has planned. Might be best if you get on my Facebook page & I'll put you in touch via that, I'm Evelyn Leydon. Hope to meet you soon then.
