My boy has a cracked splint bone and a friend whos horse did the same a few years ago suggested keeping it cold a lot of the time and it would help. I have asked my vets and they say that it wont do any harm to him so i thought id give it a try.

Questions are...how exactly would i do it? friend suggested ice tight?? And has anyone had experience of this helping and it healing quicker?

if you want an easy , in-expensive way of doing this.....go an buy yourself a bag of frozen peas, and some tubigrip. place the tubigrip up the horses leg and then place the frozen peas on the injured part (not diectly onto skin as will cause freeze burns). then bandage over the peas to hold it in place. i used this method on a really nasty splint, and it did help alot. x

20 minutes on 20 inute off as often as you can. As above over tubigrip and not directly on skin. A cheaper way is to get ice cube freezer bags and fill and freeze and use instead of peas
