oh silsanestud,

I've just noticed you breed welsh ponies.
I've a welsh pony, but there is a big debate going on at my yard about what welsh she is, I bought her as a B, but lots reckon she's a C, some reckon she's a BC cross ????

None of us are expert on Welsh ponies, but I figured you would have a very good idea as you breed them.
Would you mind giving me your professional opinion please.

ps. sorry all for jumpin off topic !!!!

Thanks xxxxx

MISSYME..... looking at her she is NOT a section B as she is too 'chunky' section b's tend to have finer heads and much less bone. id say she is a C looking at the deep girth and head. so id say she is a C, a nice little type too

.... hope that answers your question lol.. by the way u dont happen to know her breeding?

Thanks for the cilsanestud

She's a lovely girl, but sadly I dont know her breeding.
I just know she was a youngster at a farm called tapilaw in scotland, thats about it.

I've had her over 3 years now, and told everyone she's a B lol
She was no where near as chunky when I got her, and is a wee bit tubby at the moment, but even with the weight off, she's still the chunky type.

I ride her myself (but was bought for daughter), and that again made me wonder, I know the C is a lot stronger and more than capable of carrying a small adult, she can go full pelt with me.

I love the welsh breed, best ponies in the world, but I bet I'd not have to convince you lol xxxx

funnily enough she looks like a stallion we used to own

'ffoslas golden rancher' (see pic)

their markings are very similar... anyways.. glad i could help:):) (i always get to excited when talking about welshies lol)

Oh he's fab, and they do look so alike.
Looking at him, she has C written all over her.
Yeah I'm another who gets excited talking about welshies, I just love them so much.
I think Holly would have such a lovely foal, I've tinkered with the idea for the past year x

She's 13hh/13.1hh, I'd fancy something a wee bit bigger, so was thinking along the lines of breeding her with a welsh D, and maybe I'd get a pony of 14hh.
My daugher is 8 at moment, has another welsh pony, again not sure if A,B or C lol, but if I bred her now, she'd be hitting her teens when one I bred would be ready for her to start riding.
See there is method to my madness lol x
