Just wandering, I am looking for a youngster of similar breeding to the horse I currently own.
Also if you have one, how do you find their temperaments.
Not sure if I will get much response but would be interesting to know
thankies!

I know/have been to the stud where he stands. Just across the border from me towards Brecon (I could take you there but couldnt tell you where it is).
Can dig out a phone no if you like? They did have a reduction sale last Autumn, but they may still have a few.

Yes I remember seeing an ad in HandH but wasn't the right time for me to be looking (prob isn't the right time now TBH!!)
What did you think of the horses that you saw?

Nice enough, not really eyecatchers but good types.
They were all really quiet, never known a place where you could go into a herd of youngsters and start shoving them about to have a look, and not get your head kicked in.
I went there to have a look at youngsters by a TB stallion they had.

I live only about 2 miles from where the owners live. I know they have had some foals this year and probably have a number of youngsters around there. I bred 2 by him out of a quite sharp TB mare I have unfortunately lost track of the first (Pollyanna) who last thing I knew belonged to someone in the Bristol area and was just about to affiliate for jumping. The other one belongs to someone locally and can be a bit sharp but that might be the mares influence!

I also went to their dispersal sale last year and saw Old Leighlin himself and was very impressed. So much so that I have just bought a 5yr old out of a Laughtons Flight mare. Old Leighlin has been quite successful as an eventing sire. He was a lovely old boy who still enjoyed regular days out hunting aged 18 and would jump anything you pointed him at, according to his owner.

thats what my horse was bred to do but OCD put pay to that sadly, Bert has a lovely temp, can be sharp when fit but is an angel in the box would love a yard full of horses like him!
