Does anyone have either an ideal jessica or the new suzannah that they have pics of on their horse?.

I have a wide seat int event which was made for my horse 14 months ago but after her injury she may not jump again so i am wanting a dressage saddle now too.

Also how big is the seat as my int event is a 17 inch on a medium tree but very generiously sized.

Id consider a 2nd hand one but also want feedback on them new or used?

I have a suzannah dressage saddle and I love it. Its the comfiest saddle I have ridden in. As for the seat, mine is 17.5 MW. The seats on ideal saddles tend to be quite wide.
This is the only pic I have that shows the saddle

Thats great, thanks for your reply! That pictures shows the knee roll much better than their websire does.

I particulary like the suzannah over the jessica but id settle for either. The suzannah seems to have a deeper seat and i like the knee rolls on it which would suit me as im quite long from hip to knee.

I love ideal saddles but id LOVE the horse under your even more hehe.

Thats a lovely picture of you both!

Thanks

If I remember I will take some pictures of it tomorrow without me on board.
I really like it, it has a deep seat but doesnt restrict you at all and the knee blocks are just right for me. However my instructor doesnt like the knee blocks. I think its because to get her long legs around my 15.2 she has to ride quite short.

I have a Suzannah and I LOVE it. Its a 17' narrow/medium. I'd say the knee rolls are quite big and it has a deep seat. I'm long from him hip to knee and it suits me very well.

I'll try to dig out a picture where you can see the saddle.

I have the ideal jessica and love it so much that we went out and brought the GP to go with it.
They are such nice saddles

Thanks peeps

Its so difficult to see the saddles on the website as they come out dark and seeing them on a horse you can see the angle at which it would truly sit.

Id be grateful for any photos ladies

Ive recently bought an Ideal Suzannah for my horse after owning an Ideal Jessica for 4 years. I was looking for a dressage saddle with large knee blocks and a deep seat and the Suzannah seems to tick all of the boxes. It is beautiful and comfortable to ride in and seems to put me in a more correct position for dressage than the Jessica. Alfie my horse appears to like his new saddle and i have felt a difference in his way of going.

I would highly recommend either saddle as there was nothing wrong with my Jessica. I have included a couple of pics. The first is the Jessica and the second photo is the suzannah.

Hope this helps!

I don't have any good pics, but I've had an Ideal Jessica for about 3 yrs. It's super, with good supportive knee rolls and a more supportive seat than some of the other dressage saddles I tried.

Your a STAR! Really thanks very much.

I really do like it, particularly the knee roll. Its much better to see it on a horse as i can see how it truly sits and i have to say its looks LUSH.

The seat appears deeper than the seat on the jessica as i want to develop my sitting trot so feel that would suit me. I like the idea of the strap on the frount too.

I think i shall call my saddler tomo and ask him about buying one as he knows if it will fit my horse or not as he knows her shape. If he says i cant have it i might just cry hehe.

It was a nightmare trying to find a saddle that fit Gin. I tried one exactly the same size and make but it moved at the back so I tried to find a better fit. After trying every make of saddle I decided I would go back to the ideal and have my saddler move the stuffing. When I went back it had been sold to someone else. I eventually tracked one down as they are like gold dust and it fit loads better than the previous one I tried.
I guess what im trying to say is if the first one doesnt fit then try another. Ive noticed a big difference in Gins back too since ive had that saddle.

It is a very nice saddle and for £850 its excellent value for money.

I phoned my saddler today and we had a chat about it and he said it will be perfect for her as long as it suits me.

Hes going to pop it in his car and bring it either weds of thurs late pm for me to try and if i like it im going to order one as he will have one made with a textured leather seat but with smooth flaps.

I love my ideal saddles you have to be abit careful as it's more than just teh seat/panel/knee roll styling that is changed between the models. The tree's are different to so you have to have a model with a tree that suits/fits your horse.

So far for three different horses I've had the Jessica, I think an 1850 which was similar to the suzanah and now I have the elizabeth but with normal panels instead of close contact ones.

Thats why i spoke to my saddler about it.

My horse has a back profile that means that deep pannels and long points are necessary to spead the weight and give lift at the frount without pinching.

He had the ideal intl wide seat event saddle espcially made for my horse due to her shape and had special pannels built in to make sure she has free movement of her shoulder.

He said the only way i could get the jessica to fit would be to have the same speical made gussets on the pannels but he was still concerned that it wouldnt be perfect.

The suzannah which he has one in stock is made particulary for my shape of horse so its really wether i like it.

He's going to bring it this week for me to try and if i like it hes going to order me one.

Please let it be as nice as it looks for me to ride in !
