Damp in the tack room can be a real pain so was recommended the Ruby Dry Dehumidifier DH600. The reviews below are taken from Amazon, but I have to say for £129.99 + £7.50 carriage it has been great over the winter.

We had a problem of condensation in a room convereted from the garage to a dining room. We also use the room for drying clothes and consequently the condensation never went away.
Bought this unit a few weeks back and now we empty about 4 - 5 litres of water out of it PER DAY, which would otherwise remain in the room. Tremendous performance and quiet too. Don't know how much the electricity costs to run it but it's got to be less than a tumble drier running all day, or the cost of redecorating the room and replacing mouldy curtains and carpets every couple of years

Smart looking, easy to use, works great too with the added bonus of a small amount of heat generation which takes the chill off on a cool night - if you dont have the central heating on. Running costs appear to be around 3 to 4 pence an hour so a lot cheaper than putting a heater on!. Could be a problem in summer but ideal for all the other seasons.

Read up on these quite a bit and this one has won many awards from various sources from Car to home reveiws and tests.

Initially, I was quite impressed with the size of the unit, however I was even more impressed with how quietly the unit operates even on max humidity power. The set up is fairly straightforward to do (had it running in minutes once the safety tabs were removed and the carbon filter fitted), the instructions are not entirely friendly as they dont describe the functions very well, nor does it even explain about humidity levels? Strange, however maybe the manufacturer is presuming we all know this in advance. That aside, its been great.

My car garage has a leaking roof which has been causing my old Mk1 MR2 some condensation issues (i.e. feeding the dreaded rust spots LOL!). I put on the Ruby Dry and within a day was full. Thankfully, it has an auto cut off so its well contained.

The air returned after being put through the machine was noticeably warmer, but its a very cold garage so I'd imagine in a home or warmer environment it would indeed add a few degrees to the temperature.

As I've said, easy to use (even with the instructions), very quiet and comes in a good size which is easy to move about.

And no I have no connection with the company or any distributor of the product.
