Hi peeps. Saddler came out today to fit coblet for his first saddle, and looks like we may be getting an Ideal H&C.

So what do people think of these saddles? Love 'em/hate 'em/rate 'em for coblets? What do you use yours for? Do you find it comfy, does your horse work well in it? Tell me everything :D

Thanks guys :)

I've got 1, I don't use it - lovely saddle, very comfy and if it had fitted me as well as it fits my horse I would have continued to use it, unfortunately the seat it a bit too small for my bum, its sat in my garage all wrapped up, I could be persuaded to sell it, PM me :)

i have had a few of these saddles i have found them very good for wide fit ponies although i do find there isnt really enough knee block for too much jumping, but very comfy and remained reasonably still on my flat backed mare who is a nightmare for saddles! shes changed shape again now though and the h&c doesnt fit too well as it rolls, i paid £350 for mine 2nd hand lovely saddle though and holds its value, my old pony had one made to measure more than 10yrs ago and hes still got it and it fits fine, good luck :)

I paid £320 for one last year second hand and I had been trying to find one the right size secondhand for about 2 years, it was a good price as when it arrived it was practically new ( previous owner had decided to be a dressage peep). From what I can see it is a very very nice saddle, lovely leather - far better quality leather than the GFS VSD I bought new a few years back.

It sits a tiny bit low on haffie at .the front as shes a bit less plump than she was but fits very well overall other than that

If you did decide to go for it they are very readily sellable if it doesn't work out.

NB they come up pretty wide - haffie was xxw in throw good cob but only xw in the ideal h and c
