As title really! Looking for reviews good and bad on the above saddles....I know many people wont have had much experience with the harry dabbs one but may have seen it at BETA?
Not seen the HD but have the Pro and I love it. Having it fitted to my new 4 yr old on Saturday and will be gutted if it doesn't fit as can't afford a new one at the mo! I am quite short (5'2) and have evented to Novice in mine, I always felt very secure and it's comfy enough to hack in too. I know that a lot of tall people also like them and think you can go pretty custom with the flaps and blocks.
We have the Ideal Impala, not the Pro version and K loves it! evented to Novice in it last year and did her dressage in it for most of the season in it too. K is short but all leg, long hip to knee and loves the knee roll on it, she is very slight I am not sure if that is why but she has never found a monoflap that she likes, she always seems to swim in them whatever the seat size, hence getting the normal Impala not the pro!
I have the Ideal Impala pro and I love it!! I feel so secure and comfortable. I have been riding him in a Albion Kontrol over the winter, and when I switched back to the Impala, I realised how in love with it I was. Not that I don't like the Kontrol, but I just love the Impala. Ok, I'll stop gushing now, this is starting to sound obsessive. I used to have an older Harry Dabbs, which was like a Jaguar, and I liked that too. I sold it when I got Vito, as it didn't fit him.
The Harry Dabbs Future Saddle can be produced on a variety of trees (so can fit wide variety of breeds), choice of flap style (event or regular). A patent has been applied for regarding the flap and panel design which keeps the shoulder very free without the flap collapsing under the riders knee.
