Any comments or opinions on these. I'm looking to invest in a second hand dressage saddle for my ever growing youngster but don't want to spend a lot as saddler thinks he'll change a fair bit more over the next 18 months! Have been watching what things go for on ebay (budget is about £300-350 max!!) and so far Barnsby (Kanter), Ideal Jessica, and the Wintec Isabell seem to tick all the right boxes.

He is an ISH (3/4tb) and is currently in a Barnsby GP which I really like BUT all my tack is brown and I hate black tack so as there is no urgency I am prepared to hold out for the right colour... The Jessica's seem to come along in havana quite often.

For anyone wishing to suggest SC or the other wintecs the answer is no - have had a dressage SC and it was all wrong for me - I am very long in the thigh and the SC was too short and put me all wrong in the saddle! And I have a wintec 500 (GP) and have tried a pro and really didn't like them - the Isabell would do as a temporary saddle given that it is adjustable and it helps with my lower leg but its the only of the wintecs I'd consider!

Any other suggestions welcome....

I have an Ideal Jessica and it's all I ride in. I feel very secure in it, which is vital as my horse has one hell of a buck. I'd definitely recommend.

They are lovely but quite alot of saddle, felt I was riding the saddle instead of the horse!! Liked the Barnsby Kanter, and would have got that if I hadnt got my Albion

I love ideal saddles the jessica wasnt an option for my horse but i have a beautiful suzannh saddle which is the newer one and its the most comfy saddle i have ever ridden in. I also have the inst wide seat event.

You cant go wrong with ideal saddle as they doo hold a great re-sale value.

Ive owned an Ideal Jessica and more recently an Ideal Susannah and they have been perfect saddles. Like you, i am very long from hip to knee and i find this a problem when trying new saddles.

The Ideal Jessica was extremely comfy and placed me in a nice position. Ive seen lots of havana Jessicas on the market also, so im sure you could pick one up fairly easily too!

I've had my jessica for 8 yrs, it came with a mare I bought. Fab saddle, Have also got the GP as they fit my horse so well. Would rec them to anyone. Just make sure the seat isn't too long for your horse. I've got 18 inch as I am 6 ft.
Mine was on the mare -WB and is now on a 17.2 ID/TB.
