im looking for a decent GP saddle with good big knee rolls and poss thigh as well. infact, and event saddle may suit me better... just wondering what the ideals are like and how secure they are?
I adore my ideal saddles, so much so i have 4, 2 event and 2 dressage - are you planning on doing much jumping, if not i would honestly say get one of there dressage saddles - you really cannot sit in the wrong position, they are so comfortable !
Hubby has a Springbok and a professional jump and loves them (so do the horses)....why not try an Impala, you could do the dressage in it and still be able to shorten up enough to jump
Ideal saddles are fab. I know the 2 guys that own the company and they are nice straight forward guys to deal with, so IF ever there was a problem you could always go direct to them.
Yep, Ideals are great - excellent value for money and the leather is great quality.
I have a new Suzannah that is THE most comfortable saddle I've ridden in and I also had an International Event/Hunt saddle on my old horse.
The International Hunt (or is it event, I can't remember) has great knee and thigh rolls but it is probably too forward cut for dressage/flat work.
You should look out for them on ebay as you may be able to afford both - you never know what might turn up!!
Considering they are so nice I think a lot of people under-rate them so they sell quite cheaply sometimes on ebay.
Well I am very happy with my cheapo second hand Ideal (no idea which one but its a jumping saddle), vastly prefer it to the Devoucoux I had...
I'm 5 feet 1 and jump a 17hh horse so I need a saddle with big secure knee and thigh rolls that keeps my silly little legs in position!
