I had one and loved it. Not sure about that one but the one I had was lovely and held its value

I love my Ideal but I have a cobby type and bought the new F/W/B/ (for wide breeds) no one else do's such a wide base for these hard to fit cobs !! and yes they do hold there price.

Looks lovely.

I have just had to replace mine because my boy has gone from narrow/medium to medium /wide and given he has high withers and big shoulders I got one made to measure this time. I have an Ideal international event saddle, black 17.5 inch that's 12 months old that will shortly be looking for a new home in case anyone knows of anyone who is looking.

I've got an Ideal VSD/Event and it is the only saddle which fits my mare - she's very muscled up over her back from doing western, with huge shoulders. It actually allows me to sit in a reasonable 'english' position.
Don't know if they do that saddle in the 'buffalo' finish - it gives you loads more grip!

I had an Ideal Jessica dressage saddle and loved it so much but I let it go when I sold my eventer, however I've just bought another one and it arrived yesterday!

The saddle in the pic looks very nice, I bet it'll be comfy because the Jessica is.

One word of caution - don't buy a saddle because you like the look of it - buy it because it fits the horse perfectly and you like the feel of it when riding.
Having said that I have just bought an ideal saddle but I quite like it (will probably know more when I have had it longer) but my horse loves it !

I have an ideal saddle on one horse and love it, would be in anything else but hated it on my other eventer instead ride him in my prize possession devoucoux jumping saddle. So it really is a case of different saddle suitable for every horse.

Fudge had a made to measure Ideal Event as it was one of the few saddles with a tree that fitted him. It looks very smart, cleans up well and is very comfy too.

I have two Ideals, a Working Hunter and a Ramsey - the showing saddle. They are lovely!! My mare is out of work having a foal atm, and they are occasioanlly used on the gelding I ride, and if I'm not careful his owner will try and steal them!!

2 of ours have ideal event saddles and one I've had for about 20 years - it still looks like new and is so comfortable, we like them which is why we bought the 2nd one plus they fit the 2 horses they are used on, which is most important to us.
