Ideas for family day out Xmas eve or Boxing Day

Wanted to do something slightly different Xmas eve or Boxing Day.
Children are 17 and 20. Was thinking of going to races but hospitality suites are a little pricey at kempton. Any ideas.

How about, ice skating at hampton court £12.50 each..
then a drive over to windsor for a drink and a walk around...
then find somewhere to eat...... ive done that with friends before..
on christmas eve...

dont know where you are based but another for boxing day meet, there is an open air Xmas carol concert near me on Xmas eve which is brilliant... pubs overlooking the square and loads of people going. Last minutes tickets for a London play? you might get lucky?!
