ideas for new saddle please

Im looking for a new saddle and would like to find out what people think is the best one to go for.

Im after a synthetic type gp for a thoroughbred who isnt high withered. My current one is a wintec type gp but is uncomfortable for me but was fitted by my saddler as i wasnt sure if he needed high wither.

I have considered them as a friend has one but never know what one. There is a t8 for sale near me. Its £275 and 18 months old but have heard about faulty materials on them

If the wintec fits its unlikely a thorogood will as the trees are different shapes - wintecs are more curved

Much cheaper option for you, get a seat cover for your wintec. Will cost relatively nothing compared to a new saddle. If you know the wintec fits your horse why change.

Its not a wintec. Its an imported version with wintec gullets in. I want to change because a hate it. Its uncomfortable and looks horrid but it got me out of a tight spot when i needed a saddle. Tried my mates thorogood on him and it looks nice. Couldnt ride for long in it as its a cob fit and the gullet was wide where as mine in mw

Please get a saddle fitter and find a saddle that fits the horse first and you second.

Your saddler should have fitted a saddle that was right for you and for the horse - one's no good without the other

Maybe someone can recommend a fitter.

The guy i use has been doing it for years and did use to make tack so he knows what he is doing. Hes very busy as only one in area but am going to get him out again anyway.
