Hi all,

I don't know if I'm looking for the impossible but are there any sort of showing classes that I would be able to do with my little mare for fun?

She's a 13.2hh unregistered Welsh section c cross and I'm currently 22 years old and from first looks there aren't really any classes to accommodate for us.

I understand that it normally differs from show to show but any ideas what sort of classes I could look out for?

A lot of the Riding Club show catch-all M&M classes (both ridden and in-hand) specifically include part-breds, my RC certainly does. My RC show schedule says something like 'if your horse or pony is part bred you should be prepared to discuss it's breeding' presumably so the judge knows what cross he or she is supposed to be judging :)

Nothing to stop you doing Condition In Hand type classes at the same sort of shows too.

unfortunatly, as he is not purebred then M&M classes are out unless they specificly state partbreds.
There are partbred classes that you can do but he would need to be plaited up and shown probably as a hunter pony
There are also generic pony classes that depending on the show may or may not have an age limit on.

unfortunatly there is nothing you could do affiliated.

I have never been asked for a passport at an unaffiliated show so yes you could do M&M classes, ridden and in hand.

Most unaffiliated shows i go to specify purebreds only and i have objected inthe past when a coloured pony entered, it was clearly not a shetland as it was 13hh. They were desqualified and moved to the partbred class

I have been to some local shows that have ridden classes for unregistered mountain and moorland they just split into small and large so you could do those, you could do novice ridden classes any breed is allowed, in hand you can do best condition or a novice handler class not much else apart from that.
