If you remember, Skye has had an infected toe.
Well went to the vet on Wednesday and was told she could have the dressing off, and wear a large collar to stop her licking the toe.

I have the biggest collar and the little minx can wiggle it around and still get to lick the toe!
I've resorted to putting a baby sock on her toe, but of course it isn't now exposed to the air, as the vet wanted.
Have any of you any ideas what I can do?

Also. with all of this wet weather, it is a nightmare very time I take her out for a walk as I have to bandage her up and wrap polythene bags round her toe, covered in vet wrap.

I've bought a blue boot thing, but even this doesn't seem to keep the wet out.

Ideas please.
Thanks in advance.

Umm, I know you can get bitter wound spray to deter licking, obviously it would make it a bit damp but I assume the nasty taste is still there after it dries!

As for going out, the only suggestion I have is what I would do for the horses- vet wrap and heavy duty duct tape?

This is what I've used before, but not from this company.

Other than that, if you just Google 'bitter wound spray' there are lots of options including from Amazon, but I'm sure your vets would have it.
I would seriously use disposable gloves to put it on , unless you want to lose weight/bite your nails, the taste if you get any on your fingers is truly horrid!

when one of dogs had bad toe and had to be bandage
she hated the collar so i put a muzzle on to stop her licking and trying to take the dressing off
when taking her out use duck tape, its tough and water proof
our vet gave me a few of empty drip bags with a cord through so you can tie it on..alot cheaper than getting boots

She has a sock. The gaffer tape sounds a good idea and cheaper. (OH is a plumber so I could "borrow" some from him. Thanks for the help, I didn't think of gaffer tape.
