Ideas on how to get a tail white !

I have a little coloured cob mare whom i've started showing.. Problem is, i just cant get her tail white...it doesn't matter how much i wash/scrub it... it just goes a lighter shade of yellow ! Is there some miracle shampoo out there, that can do the job...so her tail is gleaming, like the rest of her !

Have you tried washing powder? Best to try the non bio one and only on the ends just in case it causes irritation. If you can leave it to soak for a few minutes then rinse well it may get it a bit whiter, could also try vanish!?

I have coloureds and i have found that once the stain in embadded in the tail most shampoos struggle, what i do it get some household cheap vinegar bucket of warm water and soak in this. This helps to strip the tail of the yellow stain, i then use fairy liquid and rinse thoroughly, it does take time but you can see the difference after each one. I usualy do this once a week with the mare and shes worse..

I use blue fairy liquid. I shampoo it first to get it clean then wash with the fairy. I sometimes have to repeat it if my horses tail is particulary yellow!

Peroxide! Not near the bone ;-)

Fairy liquid for 1 st wash then mix green ariel and fairy in equal amounts, leave for 5 mins. Was out with warm water. Silver shampoo ( blue) for old ladies the rinse!
