Hi everyone,

This is my horse, Whisper. I rescued him when he was 4 months old, paid £70 for him! Now he is 11 and we are as close as ever! :)

However, I never knew what he came from, so it is all just wild guessing, but a friend of mine said he could be part Highland and it's seems to my eye that she may be right.

Anyway, here are some pics, was wondering if anyone would like to join in the guessing game! (He is 14.1hh btw)

Highlands have a very typical expression and I am not sure he has it

I would say Welsh section D as he is a heck of a chunky pony with maybe a dash of new forest or Connie

highland x welsh for me too - very welsh in the 2nd pic ;) and v. much a chunk enough to be highland ;).

do you know if he is dun or buckskin?

I think highland x welsh sounds like a good one, or highland x connie, he is a lovely chunky fella anyway, a good buy for £70!!

Awesome pictures by the way, love the shaking one with his teeth out :-)

How tall is he?

I really don't see highland there at all.

The later pics you put up I see some connie and then there must be something extra chunky in there too. He looks buckskin rather than dun which doesn't necessarily rule highlands out as the cream could come from the other parent but it does make highlands more unlikely

You can have a dorsal stripe as a separate thing to the horse's colour. bays and buckskins can still have a dorsal stripe. All duns have a dorsal stripe but this horse isn't dun.

I was thinking Welsh x something - maybe NF? His head screams Sec D to me as does his chunkiness but his body shape's a bit more ponyish I think?

ETA - And he's obviously gorgeous. Just my sort of horsey!

I definately see Welsh D in him, in his eye and his head. Too chunky for NF so Im leaning a bit towards Highland or Connie.
