Thinking ahead to the winter. Can’t find any local brick boxes which I usually use for hay. Plus some are full of nasty nails. Some people are selling for silly money. Would a wooden small baby cot work? Or too high ? What do folk use in their fields to put hay in ? I can get cots for free. Or really cheap on market place.

I wouldn't trust my boys with something like that but they are thugs!

I have IBCs that my partner cut the tops off and then heat sealed the edges so they weren't sharp.
Then we used ground pegs to pin them down.
They're brilliant as won't rot, don't move and are fairly indestructible!

Travel cots have been working super for my three, two years in they’re a bit battered but still standing!

I like this idea! My little one on a bare paddock has a haycube and I don’t normally have to put hay out for the bigger one, but she’s out of grass already. I don’t trust her one bit with anything solid plastic she could put a foot in. I’ve just been throwing small amounts out at a time in the hope she eats it and doesn’t kick it around.

In winter when they’re in together I just chuck it in piles on the floor, when they need it.
