Just wondered what are the best ways to stop a horse jogging when out on hacks. His teeth, back etc are cheacked so it not a pian thing he just gets a little excited!!
Would it be worth investing in a calmer, do they really work? and whats the best one?

Not sure jogging is very good for the limbs or very comfortable for the rider (!) and not to be encorouged in my opinion. How about pushing him into a proper trot to use up his "excitability" and then see if that relaxes him to do a proper walk?

I dont want him jogging as i would like to do dressage in the future and it scares my nervous mum when she rides him
Have tried pushing him on and he just doesn't seem to get tired!!
