Hiya Jake my 10 year old lad x collie seems to be doing something strange and im hoping its just a dodgy tummy and nothing more if no better by tom he will be going to the vets.

On tues night he woke me up in the night to go to the toilet and he had the runs ( just the one lot) i gaqve him something light weds but weds night had rums again rich colour sorry ;) so i starved him 24 hours then started back with scrambled eggs and chick poos back to normal sat am :) fri night i also gave him abit of his normal food biscuits.

However this is now the strange bit sat night he was sick yellow bile i just put this down to him only having light food so sat am he got some biscuits and was fine sat day all back to normal so thought must of been a bug however this morning as soon as he got up he was sick again with bile onced he finished he came running in with his ball.

He is 100% fine in himself playing with gizmo drinking fine wanting to play 24/7 wanting to go for walks looks bright thats why he has not been to the vets sooner. I normally have pro kolin in but ive ran out so ive ordered some and will be here tues so will give a blast of that if no better.

Im just finding it strange thats he is only sick first thing on a morning once he has move and woken up and moved its only bile when he has food in him i would of thought some biscuits would of come up then he is fine through the day and night after his food.

Im wondering if something is going on inside with his age or could he have and ulcer or it could just be a bug ??

As i said he will be going to the vets tues if no better or sooner if he gets worse he is also fully wormed.

Sorry for the long ramble and hope it makes sense xx

Collies have sensitive old stomachs! I would starve completely for 24 hrs then introduce chicken/rice for a few days, the gut has a memory so say for instance you got food poisoning on prawns next time you eat them your gut is likely to reject it, so be careful about introducing food too soon.

If you are thinking of digestive disorders the faeces are a good indication, ie are they covered in like a sausage skin, this if often a sign , or blood in faeces!

I wouldn't worry too much about a dog bringing up bile in and out, he might be doing it as his gut has been out of order... see how he goes for a few days on a bland diet.

Hope your vaccinations are up to date :-)

Thank yes fully upto date, he was starved 24 hours and had bland diet after that :) he has been fine all today so will see if i get the morning sick, just seems strange he is fine all the time until he wakes up in the morning ie 1st movement.

When he started with the runs he did have the gooey membrane but now that end is all back to normal thank god :)

thank u x

If it is just bile first thing in the morning it is more than likely just that his stomach is empty as you've had him on light rations due to the earlier problems. Try a dry biscuit last thing at night before you go to bed.....solves the problem with one of mine easy peasy!

As suggested above, I think Vizzys dog also needs 2 meal becaue she vomits on a morning, I would try the dry biscuits asa later mea, esp asyou have already done the whole starvation thing, it could also be he has picked something up whithout you realising and it's upset his system somewhat, I would not worry to much if he is still eall bright in himself.
Regan was vomiting last week for 2 days (lots) and because it was regan I overly panicked, I starved her and she slep downstairs instead of on the landing where the litter tray is positioned:rolleyes: the vomiting stopped:rolleyes: dirty little cow.

Thanks you know what im like lol Jake is my new ben to worry about :) ;) hope your ready for the panic pm's ;)

No sick this morning :) now has two meals (small) he is loving that

:)

thanks again everyone x
