Identifying grass species in field

So I’d really like to know what species of grass I’ve got in my horses field, any ideas where I can send a sample off to get this done?

Note I’m after species of grass, not nutritional or mineral analysis

Maybe because some grasses are so much safer grasses than others. And it's nice to know the species that we have.

Tim Berners-Lee invented the WWW just for this kind of thing: sharing information.

There must be a "grass-fanciers forum" out there somewhere. Otherwise, a gardeners' forum with a "grass, pasture and lawn" section.

Or you could just trawl through the lists of European grasses on Picky Weedia.

Just use Google Lens top take a picture of the grass and it will tell you. Not a good time of year for ID as obviously best when the grass is in flower, so you may want to wait until spring. A lot easier than trying to identify them by using a guide - so many varieties!
