Idiotic boot colour question

Hello everyone

Even though I have been around the horse scene a fair old while, I'm still unsure what the situation is with regard to boot colour.

I might want to show when the country opens up a bit, but it will be absolutely nothing fancy - possibly a very, very low key dressage/clear round jobbie.

Is there any reason I should not get brown boots? I've seen some in the sale that I love but they are only available in dark brown- not black.

Your advice would be greatly appreciated

Doesn't matter these days, I compete BD in brown boots. Go for an even brighter colour if you dare!

A friend has dark purple and they are the most gorgeous boots!

You'd be best with black for county-level showing and above, but brown would be fine for anything else.
