... by companies house, and let's say they have erm a few CCJs (read a LOT), do those debts get cancelled when the company is no longer a registered one?

If a company is going to be removed for not informing companies house of a change of registered/trading address (which happened 3 months ago), will they still be able to trade or will they also have to cease trading?

I know they will no longer be on companies house's register and that companies can be 'struck off for non-compliance' (is this non-compliance?), but does it mean anything for the operation of the company?

By the way, this is not my company.

OK firstly are you sure they have been removed from companies house?

Are they a LTD Company? If so they will still be on the register, if they have gone bust there will just be a winding up notice, companies house do not 'remove' companies for not giving correct information, they will just get into lots of bother.

If company has gone bust the information is normally held still for at least 5 yrs.

If you want to PM me with the company info I can look into it for you, I have access to companies house documents and if LTD company they cannot hide, not if it is a recent thing.

However they can continue to trade under another name or holding name if they were ltd, but if they are not ltd then they are under no obligation to tell companies house anything.

Plus I understand that changes must be notified within the companies year end so as long as they state change of details when submit their returns I 'think' they are not totally in the wrong.

Is hard to give tru facts without a better idea of what the situation is.

Ah it's just companies house are saying they are going to remove this company from the register (well, the registrar is), because they are no longer trading/it is not clear if they are. She says that as there have been no replies to her correspondence, the registrar is shortly to begin striking off procedure, which begins with a notice in the London Gazette.

I've been monitoring this company through companies house and on creditgate for a while, and they definitely still listed; but if they remove the company, I just worry where their creditors stand. The person already has around 15k in CCJs, and has incurred at least one a month since July :S

Also if things are that bad, I very much doubt creditors will get money back, once it is wound up such as the VAT man and banks will get the first dibs at any money going, practically everyone else will just have to swallow the loss unfortunately, if you have a claim to be made with them raise it ASAP
