Well, it certainly wasn't cheap, but I was lucky to be given it as a present. The bronze in fact cost around twice as much as the mare did 20 years previously. I was lucky enough to have picked an up and coming sculptor, purely by chance. She had an advert in the H&H and there was a picture of her with her mare who looked so like mine - even she agreed when she saw her. I was chatting to the sculptor at Badminton last year as she had a stall, and if I sold the bronze today it would make more than I commissioned it for, even selling to someone who didn't know my girl. So an investment, although I would never part with it.
