I have been mulling over changing Bentley's bit recently (currently a loose ring happy mouth snaffle with a rotating lozenge) and the choices of material, mouthpiece and ring configurations available in a snaffle have got me stumped- let alone anything else!! This has got me wondering...

If you could only use ONE bit for the rest of time, what would you choose and why? :D

NS Universal bit... you have the 2 rings, so I can jump my horse on the bottom ring and "can" school him in it on the snaffle ring if i wanted to... Love it :D

I would go for my 3 ring mullen mouth (metal mouthpiece) gag, then I could jump and hack on the first small ring and school on the snaffle ring. Although George does prefer to do flatwork in his mullen mouth eggbutt.

Military Reversible Pelham.

Old fashioned but still works for most horses.

At it's lightest it acts as a Cambridge snaffle but has many options.

Full cheek happy mouth with lozenge/link.
I have found most horses go really well in it
Except have to get a new one at least once a year as they can get a bit chewed up!
