...made your horse lame would you ask for a refund?
My farrier is usually really good, but yesterday I had my youngsters feet trimmed and he was really unhappy with having his near hind done. Last night when I fed them he was obviously lame on it in walk, but no heat or swelling anywhere. Vet came out today for a different reason but I asked her to look at him and she agrees with me that too much foot has been taken off and its made him sore and bruised.
What would you do?

You say he was unhappy having it trimmed, which would tell me it was painful before the farrier trimmed it away?

It could be bruising if the vet says too much has been taken off, bit likewhen we cut our nails too short.

I would give it a few days and if no improvement, call the farrier and let him know the horse is not right, and see what he says.

Don't necessarily think the farrier has done anything wrong - should subside once he gets used to his new short feet.

Personally, I would give it a couple of days and if not better investigate further. However, if you are happy with your farrier, is it worth causing friction knowing how difficult it is to get decent farriers?

This is what I'm thinking as I don't like confrontation anyway, but it has definately been cut to short, and he was completely sound before - he is now lame enough for the vet to reccomend bute. The other hind foot is noticeably longer and I have a show with him in 10 days, think I'll just bite the bullet and give her a call

For what you are talking about - no.
Why was he iffy with this hoof anyhow? Something already aggravating?
