Mainly for everyday use and dressage tests, and the reasons why, also which bridle wouldn't you buy and again the reasons why .

wauldhausen rolled leather!!

have been happy with all my bridles and my fav is the wauldhausen

Does no one want to help me - sob sob,.

I am wanting a nice bridle and am sure which to go for, ie a comfort type, do they really make a difference to a horses way of going, or are they a gimick?

An Albion, if you can get one for that price or a Cliff Barnsby (my made to measure one with was £135 with reins) I have both and they are gorgeous, very smart and excellent quality leather.

i may have spelt it wrong i think derby house sell em and equiport look like same bridle but diff price tag!!!!!!!

I'd go for a hand-made, made-to-measure bridle with top quality english leather. I would have the saddler come measure ned and make sure it fits perfectly. I would still pay less than you mention, I'd go to mrhsaddler - ooops, I already do!! Of course, he only lives two miles away!! (but does Mail Order)

Depends on the horse & what sort of bridle it suits .. but I love plain hunter bridles, no padding or frilly bits, the Sabre hunter bridle is lovely, good quality & lasts well, and you could get 2 of them with reins for that budget!

I would buy a Heritage and pocket the remaining £130 ish

. I personally have found mine very hard wearing, easy to clean and even when a bit dirty looks good.

If I was feeling flash though I would buy a Sabre Cordoba [sp] and then pocket the remaining £60. Lovely looking bridle but would have to be for best ONLY.

I bought my Elevator 18 months ago and very pleased with it. Lovely soft leather, looks really smart and despite my lack of cleaning

still looks great.

Know people who have the Albions and they do look smart as well.

I always go for keiffer, lovely and soft and requires minimal cleaning, after that would prob go for Elevator too.

a sabre, lovely leather, or jeffries, and buy a cheaper bridle with the excess to hack out in when its raining!! so you dont ruin your posh bridle

Albion KB, my horse goes well in it, its soft and supple and looks smart, also you can mix the sizes which was useful as my horse needed a cross between a full and extra full.

I'd second the Elevator - they're immensely well made, last for ages and the leather is utterly gorgeous. And you'd have change from the cash, I think - or at least, it was less than that when I bought it...

Im a huge stubben bridle fan. They do laods of different types to suit all types of head and mine is still lovely 2 years on. Really sort and supple.

I paid about £150 for my Kate Negus elevator, my horse looks fab in it and it is best qaulity, It also has made a coonsiderable difference to the way he rides, he feels much lighter. Deff look at Kate Negus bridlework, its brill!

I'd go for a made to measure English leather one. OR, a really nice Sabre or Jefferies one.

I have a plain English leather one at the mo but a pair of Sabre reins & they are about 15 years old, they are gorgeous & still look really nice. I have small hands & they 'fit' my hands really well. I am a huge fan of Sabre so probably would go for that.

I would go for an Elevator, I bought one for my mare, shame she only used it for six weeks before I sold her, just gathering dust now

At the moment I have Elevator Bridle's but they don't really suit my boy. Funny enough hacked up to the saddlers today and got him measured for a made to measure. Still want the comfort poll though and want it in black. When I have mastered piccys will put some on here as I would like advice as to what people think might suit him

Albion KB cos I bought one recently and it's made from good quality leather, it's very supple and looks more comfortable on her than her last bridle

Sabre - I've got one and its lasted really well, its easy to buy matching parts if any get broken/ I need different noseband later etc... and they do a really nice shade of brown.

I bought my mare an Elevator a few months ago. The quality is fabulous and she is much more relaxed in her head and neck in it. I wasn't aware of a problem as such before, but she is noticably softer since using it. I have the one with the white trim and I think it was about £150, so you would have change

Don't get me started on the service from the Elevator though. It was incompetent and took several attempts and lots of follow-up telephone calls from me before I got what I ordered

But since both of us like the bridle so much, I can grudgingly say it was worth it in the end!

Albion all the way. By far the best leather of all the comfort bridles, beautifullymade and look gorgeous. Yet to be impressed by the elevators, and have tried to be on several occasions!!

I love my happy tack comfort bridle - go to theis site and click on comfort bridle.

The leather is lovely English leather, it is padded but not too bulky for my boy's head. He goes nicely in it and it seems to have worn well. He is the one modeling it in the picci!

I also love sabre bridles. I bought a one for my old lady 15 years ago, did every thing in it and it still looks fab. Leather lovely mellow colour and nice and soft.

Much nicer than the Elevator, Kate Negus or Keiffer bridles I have seen. Its VERY soft and the quality of the leather is great. I want their £320 rolled leather super bridle next
